In severely destroyed wrist joints, experts assessed the distal resection interposition arthroplasty of the wrist as a tool to restore mobility as well as to restore stability. They noted the comparability of the results for radiocarpal arthrodesis to those of synovectomy or arthrodesis of the wrist. Findings suggested a probable variation in the results after total wrist joint arthroplasty as the result of different patient groups, implant types and evolution of prosthetic designs and these are not comparable with the present study.
